April 16, 2008-The Emporia State tennis teams split their dual matches with Washburn with the women winning 6-3 over the #29 Lady Blues and the men falling 1-8 to the #24 Ichabods.

The Hornets swept the women's doubles competition highlighted by an 8-1 win at #1 by Natalie Villaflor and Marcella Bayon. Villaflor, Amanda Morris and Audrey Sherman then won their singles matches to give ESU the win int he dual.

Julian Rios picked up the lone win for the ESU men, winning 6-2, 6-1 at #1 singles.

Both the men and women are back in action on Saturday against Northwest Missouri State. The Senior Day duals will begin at 1 p.m. at the Emporia HS Courts. It is Fan Appreciation/Autograph Day for the Hornet tennis team with hot dogs available for free to the first 100 fans.
