George Milton Tennis Courts
Emporia State dedicated its home tennis courts in honor of
former tennis coach George Milton on May 14, 2004. Milton
was head coach of the men’s tennis program from 1966-99
and guided the women’s
program from 1976-99.
He was a five-time NAIA District 10 men’s Coach of the Year and two-time women’s Coach of the Year. He guided the men’s team to the NAIA national tournament four times and sent an individual to the NCAA national tournament once. He led the women’s team to two NAIA national tournaments. His career dual match record at ESU was 329-170 for the men and 210-133 for the women.
