April 14, 2009-Emporia State’s Megan Dennis threw a perfect game and Miranda Campbell was five for five with six RBI in a double header sweep of Newman on Tuesday at the Trusler Sports Complex. ESU won the first game 9-0 in five innings and took the nigh cap 9-2.

Jenna Potter preserved the perfect game making a diving catch on Stephanie Harshberger’s fly ball to centerfield for the final out of the game.
Offensively the Hornets were led by Miranda Campbell who went two for two with five RBI, a home run and two runs scored. Jill Peters hit a two run homer for the Hornets as well.
In the second game, Abby Hughes was two for three with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored to pace the offense. Campbell was three for three with a double, triple, two runs scored and an RBI in the night cap.
