#25 HORNETS SPLIT ON DAY ONE OF ACU TOURNEY
February 13, 2009 -- The #23 ranked ESU softball team split their two games at the Abilene Christian Tournament. ESU dropped their morning session game to #8 Southeastern Oklahoma State 1-0 in eight innings. They then rebounded in the night session with a 8-2 win over host Abilene Christian.
Five different Hornets got an RBI in the night cap as Abby Smith went three for four in the contest with a run driven in. Jennifer Heerey picked up her second win of the season striking out four through 4.2 innings of work. Megan Dennis came on in relief to pick up her first save of the season.
In the early game Megan Dennis worked all eight innings and only allowed three hits and an unearned run in the International tie breaker loss to SE Oklahoma St.
ESU will be back in action at 10 a.m. tomorrow.
