#11 ESU FALLS IN EXTRA INNINGS

February 8, 2008 -- The #11 Hornet softball team fell to Northeastern State 4-3 in eight innings this morning in Abilene, Texas. Miranda Campbell picked up her fourth RBI of the season and Hornets tacked on two runs in the top of the seventh inning to force the extra frames.
 
In the top of the eighth inning Freshman Abby Smith gave the Hornets their first lead at 3-2 when she drove in Aubree Brattin with a sacrifice. Northeastern answered with two in the bottom half of the frame to win the game.
 
Brittany Norris struck out two in 5.1 innings of work for the Hornets who were out hit by Northeastern State 10-5.
 
ESU will now face Southeastern Oklahoma State in the 2:00 p.m. game in Abilene.
