May 11, 2008-Tournament Most Outstanding Player Miranda Campbell had two home runs, one of them a grand slam, as Emporia State run ruled Winona State 9-1 in the NCAA Division II North Central Regional Softball Tournament Championship Game. Recap Box Score All-Tournament Team

May 10, 2008-It was Shut-out Saturday at the NCAA Division II North Central Regional Softball Tournament in Emporia, Kan. Emporia State, Minnesota State and Winona State all posted shut out wins, with ESU and WSU the teams that are left standing at the end of the day. The Hornets and Warriors will meet for the regional championship on Sunday morning at 10 a.m. for the right to go to Houston and the NCAA Division II Spring Sports Festival.

May 9, 2008-Emporia State and Winona State are the two remaining undefeated teams after ten games at the NCAA Division II North Central Regional Softball Tournament in Emporia, Kan. 
Winona State has made it this far by knocking off the #24 and #12 teams in the NFCA Poll and will take on #6 Emporia State at 10 a.m. on Saturday in the winners bracket championship game.  Neb.-Omaha and Minnesota State will meet at 12:15 p.m. with the winner taking on the loser of the ESU-WSU game.

After going through four pallets of drying agent and working the field since 6:30 a.m., the NCAA Division II North Central Regional Softball Tournament in Emporia moved the start of games on Friday back an additional hour to 12 noon. The tournament restarted with an elimination game between Minnesota State and Washburn at 12 noon.
Nearly 1.25 inches of rain fell on the Emporia area between midnight and 3 a.m. overnight. When the tarp was removed at 6:30 a.m. there was some standing water around the edges of the infield.

May 8, 2008-Winona State, Southwest Minnesota State, Nebraska-Omaha and Emporia State won opening round games on the first day of the NCAA North Central Regional Softball Tournament in Emporia, Kan. In the first elimination game of the tournament, Northwest Missouri State defeated Central Missouri 1-0 in 11 innings. ESU's 5-3 win over Washburn was the only game of the day not decided by one run. Action continues on Friday with an elimination game between Minnesota State and Washburn at 10 a.m. on Turnbull Field at the Trusler Sports Complex.

May 8, 2008-The grounds crew was on the field at 6:30 a.m. and today's games began as scheduled at 10 a.m. with Central Missouri taking on Winona State.

May 7, 2008-Due to overnight and continuing rains in the Emporia area, the start of the NCAA Division II North Central Regional Softball Tournament has been postponed one day. The tournament is now scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 8 at the Trusler Sports Complex in Emporia.

The grounds crew was able to remove the tarp on Turnbull Field and work the field during a break in the rain during the late morning, however continued light showers have made additional work on Wednesday impossible.

The entire tournament has been pushed back one day with the championship games now scheduled for Sunday, May 11.

The winner of the North Central Regional Softball Tournament will advance to the NCAA Division II Finals May 14-17 in Houston, Texas, as part of the NCAA Division II National Championships Festival.
