HORNETS ADDS ANOTHER SIGNEE
May 7, 2009 -- Emporia State head coach Jim Schneiderhahn
recently announced the signing of Amanda Penney to attend ESU and play soccer for the Hornets in the 2009 season.
Penney is a forward from Rockwall Heath HS in Rockwall, Texas. She was a second-team All-District performer for the Hawks. She played club soccer for the Sting Soccer Club.
"We are very happy to have Amanda," said Schniederhahn. "She will provide a nice physical presence to our forward line, along with a very strong competitive attitude. She has the ability to create opportunities up top."
Penney joins earlier signees Lindsey Allen, Ashley Hill, Hollis St. John, and Nikki Schmitz as incoming freshmen for the Hornets in 2009.
"We have many options to look at with regards to systems of play, with the addition of Amanda" said Schneiderhahn. "It could be very fun going into next year!"
