HORNET SOCCER FALLS 4-1 TO UNO AT HOME
October 18, 2009 -- The Emporia State soccer team fell 4-1 at home to Nebraska-Omaha. The Hornets got seven shots on goal and only allowed the Mavericks 12 shots on goal.
UNO scored twice early to build a 2-0 lead before ESU answered in the 44th minute of the first half. Tina Commons centered a cross off of a Hornet corner kick and four Ashley Hill in the middle for the header goal. For Hill it was her fourth goal of the seaosn while Commons added her first assist. Nikki Schmitz had eight saves for the Hornets.
ESU will face Northwest Missouri at 2 p.m. on Oct. 22 from ESU Pitch.
