HORNET SOCCER EARNS TIE WITH EAST CENTRAL
September 4, 2009 -- The Emporia State soccer team got two goals to earn a 2-2 against East Central in the MIAA/Lone Star Crossover in San Angelo, Texas. ESU was outshot 16-14 as both teams got eight shots on goal.
The Hornets first goal came right out of the half as Ashley Hill scored on a breakaway to tie the game at one. Raquel White would put ESU ahead as she headed in a corner kick off the foot of Alison Germany in the 69th minute. The Tigers got he equalizer in the 81st minute and that's where the score would stay. Katrina Goscha had five saves on the night for the Hornets.
ESU will now play the host Angelo State on Sunday at 2 p.m.
