HORNETS DROP HOME VERSION OF TURNPIKE TUSSLE

October 16, 2008 -- The Hornet soccer team was not without its opportunities putting seven shots on goal and having two shots hit the posts in the 2-0 loss to Washburn. The Hornets were outshot 25-12, but only 11-7 in shots on goal.
 
Goalie Jennifer Stillmock made nine saves for the Hornets including getting her first career stop of a penalty kick. Alicia Smith, Jessica Decker and Alison Germany all had two shots on goal for ESU while Tessa Pettyjohn added one. ESU earned three corner kicks to only one by Washburn.
 
The Lady Blues goals came in the 12th and 86th minutes of the game.
 
ESU will next be on the pitch in Omaha, Neb. against UNO at 1 p.m. on Oct. 18.
