HORNETS KNOCKED OFF BY #20 NEBRASKA-OMAHA
October 9, 2008 -- The Hornet soccer team held the #20 Mavericks scoreless for the final 81 minutes of the game after two early goals. The Hornets could not manage to get on the board though falling 2-0. The Mavs goals came in the 1st and 8th minutes in the game.
Three goalkeepers saw action in the game for a Hornets with Jennifer Stillmock and Tina Commons making saves for the Hornets. Kat DeWeese played in goal for the final five and a half minutes of the first period. Kelsey Cowan had three shots for ESU including their only shot on goal for the night. The Hornets did manage to win the corner kick battle earning six on the night while UNO only earned one.
The Hornets will next play on Saturday, Oct. 11 when they face Northwest Missouri. Kickoff for the match is scheduled for 2 p.m. from the TRYSA Complex.
