HORNETS PLAY TO TIE WITH BEARCATS
October 11, 2008 -- The ESU soccer team played to a tie for the first time since 2006 taking Northwest Missouri to the wire and earning a point in the standings. Jennifer Stillmock tied a career high with 12 saves as the Hornets pulled out the tie even though they were outshot 34-7 in the game. The Hornets held a lead in the game for just over 33 minutes.
The Hornet goal came late in the first period as Alison German beat Bearcat goalkeeper Kira Lazenby to arch a shot into the goal. The play was set up as Raquel White beat the keeper to a deflection and got a pass off to the wide open Germany. Northwest's only goal came unassisted in the 73rd minute.
The Hornets will face Washburn in the Turnpike Tussle on Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. from the TRYSA Complex.
