HORNETS FALL TO TRUMAN 3-0 AT HOME
October 12, 2007 -- On a rainy night in Emporia the Hornets fell to Truman by a score of 3-0. The game was delayed for nearly fifty minutes as inclement weather passed through the Emporia area. The rain and lightning delay came with TSU leading 2-0.
Emporia held the game scoreless for the first 33 minutes of the match before Isabel Gaeta scored her fourth goal of the season to give TSU the 1-0 lead. The second goal came early in the second half as Kim Wolf scored with 53:53 on the clock. The Bulldogs got their final goal of the match when Isabel Gaeta added her second goal of the night in the 75th minute.
Truman outshot the Hornets 29 to 4 on the night. Caitlin Riemer got the only shot on goal for the Hornets who got three shots from freshman Lauren Cathey. Megan Martin had nine saves in the match for ESU.
The Hornets will next face Northwest Missouri State on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. from the TRYSA Complex in Emporia.
