HORNETS FALL TO WASHBURN IN MIAA OPENER
September 8, 2007-- The Emporia State Soccer team fell 6-0 to Washburn at the TRYSA Complex in Emporia. The Hornets got two shots in the game while the Lady Blues set a team record getting off 48 shots including 22 of them on goal.
For the Lady Blues Jessica Mainz had three goals and Danielle Ayala had two. For the Hornets Megan Martin bested her old record for saves in a game by getting 16, one more than her career best of 15. Sarah Tetuan got the only two shots for the Hornets and ended the night with one shot on goal.
The Hornets will next be on action on the road against Missouri Western on Friday, September 14 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Joseph, Mo.
