ESU SOCCER FALLS IN SEASON OPENER
August 24, 2007--Emporia State fell to Rockhurst 4-0 in a weather delayed soccer match in Kansas City, Mo. on Friday night. The match was delayed in the first half due to lightning in the Kansas City area.
ESU was out shot 23-3 on the game with RU's first and last goal coming on corner kicks. Alicia Smith, Sarah Tetuan and Lauren Cathey each had shots for the Hornets. Megan Martin recorded saves on six of the Hawks ten shots on goal.
The Hornets will play their home opener on Aug. 29 against Newman. ESU is 28-20-5 all-time at the TRYSA Complex and are 17-12-5 since 2003 on their home pitch. Kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m. on We
