HORNETS DROP DOUBLE OVERTIME MATCH
August 31, 2007--The Emporia State soccer team lost a double overtime thriller at East Central (Okla.) on Friday evening.

The Hornets trailed 1-0 at the half after being out shot 15-5 in the opening frame.  ESU tied the score on a cross by Sarah Tetuan from Katherine DeWeese in the 80th minute.  The teams went to overtime tied at 1-1 and neither was able to capitalize in the first extra frame. ECU's Heather Martin scored the "golden goal" 1:44 into the second overtime.

Playing with a broken bone in her hand suffered in Wednesday's match against Newman, Megan Martin recorded 14 saves in goal for the Hornets.

ESU will take on Angelo State, a 3-0 winner over Missouri Western on Friday, at 12 noon on Sunday in Ada, Okla.
