- What do you want SAAC to do this year? Comment Box
- Each member filled out a slip about a positive and a negative from their athletic experience.
- General opinion was that a Comment Box could be beneficial if made available to all student-athletes.
- NCAA Legislation--Text Messaging
- Great group discussion led to some good points of view.
- Division II is considering eliminating the use of text messaging from recruiting practices, just as Division I has done.
- The primary concern with texting as a recruiting tool is the cost involved is a prospective student athlete does not have unlimited texting.
- Some SAAC members said they would prefer to stick to e-mail and letters.
- Seville made the point that for a high school kid, a text from a potential coach could really be influential. It could be used as a great tool.
- Texting would allow a coach to immediately contact a PSA after watching a game, where a phone call would have to fall into allowed times, etc.
- Texting could not be regulated easily.
- Homecoming Parade – try to get a representative their from your team
- Exchange Contact Information with your Co-Event Planners
- Feel free to discuss your planning progress, especially if your event is in the Fall Semester.
