CORNERS AND SAFETIES WRAP-UP DEFENSIVE LOOK

August 11, 2009-A young, but talented group of defensive backs will be the focus for the third day of the 2009 training camp interview schedule for Emporia State on Tuesday, August 11 outside the Lakeview Cafeteria.

Travis Lee is the elder statesman of the group as a three-year letterwinner. He earned second-team All-MIAA honors as a sophomore after returning two interceptions for touchdowns and becoming the first player in MIAA history to return an interception 100 yards for a touchdown and score a defensive extra point in the same season.

Chris Poston was an honorable mention All-MIAA selection as a true freshman and was the Hornets’ third leading tackler with 44 stops.

Kameron Gee was right behind Poston with 42 tackles and had a team high three take aways.

Quincy Williams had a team high seven pass break-ups last season.

Derek Lohman returns to the safety position after spending the last part of his freshman season at linebacker.

Julian Dozier was rated the 68th best cornerback in the country according to rivals.com and could make an immediate impact at this deep position.
