November 1, 2008 -- The ESU football team was outgained 562 to 184 as the #3 Bearcats defeated them 56-7 in the ballgame in Maryville. ESU did hold NWMSU scoreless in the in the third quarter and only gave up 14 points in the entire second half. ESU finished with 108 yards through the air and 76 yards on the ground.

The Bearcats put up 21 points in both of the opening frames as the ESU offense struggled to get things going. Andre Sloan El finished the day 16 of 27 for 71 yards. He was replaced in the fourth quarter by Zach Rampy who led the Hornets on their only scoring drive of the afternoon. Rampy finished 3 of 8 for 37 yards and one touchdown. He also led the Hornets with 31 yards on the ground in the game.

Danny McEvoy finished with five catches for 54 yards while Tracy Hageman made three catches for 29 yards and a touchdown. Defensively Chris Poston had 15 tackles and was joined by Katrel Larkins who finished with 11 tackles in the game. Bryan Tarkington recovered a fumble in the Bearcat redzone to set up the only Hornet score.

ESU will be back in action on Nov. 8 when they take on #12 Pittsburg State on senior day at Welch Stadium.
