July 30, 2007-The Emporia State football team was tabbed to finish eighth in the MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll released today.

The Hornets return 16 starters from last year's 3-8 team. Four of last year's losses were by three points or less.

Emporia State opens the season September 1 at Western State in Gunnison, Colo.
