October 3, 2008-Junior Skyler Delmott placed second individually to lead the Emporia State men to win the Jock's Nitch Invitational for the second straight year. Freshman Katie Mona made it two straight years for the ESU women to have the individual championship as the Hornet women placed third as a team.

Delmott led four Hornets in the top ten and ESU placed all five scorers in the top 11 as they outpaced runner-up Johnson County CC 34-80. Cloud County CC's Julias Bor ran a 23:55 to shatter the course record, bettering Truman's Andy Doering's previous mark of 24:36 set at the 2001 MIAA Championships. Delmott's time of 25:09 is the eigth fastest time on the Jones Park course and the second best by a Hornet on their home course.

Delmott was joined in the top ten by Adam McGovern in fifth, William Hohmeier in seventh and Sloane Kern in ninth place. Asher Delmott finished the scoring with an 11th place finish.

Katie Mona picked up her second individual win of the season with the ninth fastest time in Jones Park history. Her mark of 18:13 is the fourth best by a Hornet on the 5K course. Morgan Frehe placed 12th and Kathryn Davison finished in 20th overall for ESU. Tiffany Baum and Christy Weller closed out the scoring for ESU in 24th and 30th respectively.
