
December 31, 2009-The #9 Emporia State Lady Hornets used a 16-0 run in the first half to take control in a 76-42 win at Neb.-Omaha on New Year’s Eve. Cassondra Boston led all scorers with 22 points as she moved past Casey Henningsen into 12th place in career scoring at ESU.
Sophia Lenard and Alli Volkens joined Boston in double figures as nine of ten Lady Hornets scored. Jessica Zaruba scored eight points to lead the
Mavericks, the third straight game ESU has not allowed a double figure scorer.
ESU is back in action on Saturday when they travel to Southwest Baptist. Tip-off from Meyers Sports Center in Bolivar is set for 5:30 p.m.
