#4 LADY HORNETS TAKE CARE OF TRUMAN

February 1, 2009-The #4 Lady Hornets never trailed, but needed a late 12-0 run to secure a 67-58 victory over Truman on Sunday in White Auditorium. Andrea Leiker led the Lady Hornets with 14 points and was joined in double figures by Sophia Lenard with 13 points.

ESU led 40-29 at the half, but Truman cut the lead to 55-52 with 6:17 remaining in the game on a Breanna Daniels jumper in the lane. Leiker then went on a personal 10-0 run with back to back three pointers, a lay-up and two free throws and Allie Renberg's hit two free throws with the last one giving ESU their lasrgest lead with 2:01 left.

With the win ESU maintains a two game lead on the rest of the MIAA. The next action for the Lady Hornets will be Wednesday, Feb. 4 against Central Missouri. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
