November 28, 2008-The #10 Lady Hornets used a 28-0 run over 6:02 at the end of the first half to blow the game open in a 115-63 victory over Texas A&M-International in the first game of the TAMU-Kingsville Turkey Day Shootout in Kingsville, Texas on Friday.
Ida Edwards had a career high 19 rebounds and Alli Volkens scored 18 points to lead five Lady Hornets in double figures as ESU topped the century mark for the 41st time under Brandon Schneider and the second time this season. Sophia Lenard had all 16 of her points in the first half as TAMUI was within two of the ESU at 19-17 with 8:48 left in the opening frame. She scored ESU’s first six points of the game and then added ten points during the Lady Hornets 28-0 run.
Jamie Augustyn added 16 points and Lacy Corker had 13 points for ESU while Allie Renberg recorded her first double-double of the season with 13 points and ten rebounds. Cassondra Boston had a team high six assists to go with nine points.
The Lady Hornets are back in action on Saturday against the host Javelinas. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. from the Steinke Center in Kingsville, Texas.

Edwards 19 rebounds are the most by a Lady Hornet since Michelle Stueve had 21 against Shaw on Nov. 29, 2005 and the most by a Lady Hornet other than Stueve since Myshka Wlikerson grabbed 19 against Saint Mary (Kan.) College on Nov. 18, 2000.
The 115 points are the most points scored by ESU since a 120-83 win over SBU in White Auditorium on March 1, 2008 and the most scored by ESU away from White Auditorium since a 124-44 win over McPherson College in the Lady Buff Classic on Nov. 20, 1999.
