December 6, 2008-Andrea Leiker scored a career high 30 points to lead #12 Emporia State to a 111-67 victory over Missouri Western on Saturday night in White Auditorium. The senior from Lyons, Kan. hit seven straight three-pointers in the first half and ended up with eight treys.
Leiker scored the first nine points in a 12-0 run that gave ESU a 26-10 lead with 12:33 left in the first half and the lead would not drop below single digits the rest of the night.
Alli Volkens had her third straight double double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Leiker and Volkens were joined in double figures by Cassondra Boston with 16 and Sophia Lenard with 12 points. MWSU was led by Nikki Boone and Tierra Ford with 17 points each.
ESU is back in action on Dec. 13 when they travel to Central Missouri. Tip-off from Warrensburg, Mo. is set for 6 p.m.
