December 20, 2008-Ida Edwards had 20 points and 19 rebounds to lead the #9 Emporia State Lady Hornets to a 119-35 victory over Harris-Stowe State on Saturday in White Auditorium. It is the second largest margin of victory in Lady Hornet history behind a 127-42 win over Pittsburg State during the 1975-76 season.
Edwards was one of six Lady Hornets in double figures. Alli Volkens recorded her fourth double-double in the last five games with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Sophia Lenard had a career high 18 points while Andrea Leiker added 17 points, Cassondra Boston had 14 points and Brittney Miller added a career high 11 points. The Lady Hornets shot .530 from the field for the game while holding HSSU to .250 shooting.
ESU will be back in action on December 29 when they travel to Kirksville, Mo. to take on Truman State. Tip-off for the MIAA contest is set for 5:30 p.m.
