#10 LADY HORNETS EARN WIN OVER EVANGEL
November 25, 2008-All five starters scored in double figures as #10 Emporia State defeated Evangel 93-69 on Tuesday night in White Auditorium. Ida Edwards led the way for the LAdy Hornets with her third consecutive double-double. The reigning MIAA Player of the Week had 15 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots on the night.
She was joined in double figures by Cassondra Boston and Sophia Lenard with 14 each, while Andrea Leiker added 12 and Alli Volkens chipped in 10 points. ESU trailed 16-11 with 11:39 left in the first half before going on a 13-3 run to take the lead for good.
The Lady Hornets will now travel to south Texas to take part in the TAMU-Kingsville Turkey Day Shootout. ESU will play TAMU-International on Friday and the host Javelinas on Saturday.
