December 13, 2008-The #9 Emporia State Lady Hornets used a 19-2 run in the second half on their way to a 77-64 victory over Central Missouri on Saturday in Warrensburg, Mo. Cassondra Boston led all scorers with 20 points and added seven rebounds for ESU.
The Lady Hornets led 27-24 at the half and scored 50 second half points as they moved to 3-0 in the MIAA and 8-1 overall. Andrea Leiker scored 17 and Sophia Lenard scored 15 along with Ida Edwards 12 to join Boston in double figures. Edwards had nine rebounds while Allie Renberg had eight as ESU outrebounded UCM 49-36.
ESU will step out of MIAA play on Dec. 20 when they take on Harris-Stowe. Tip-off from White Auditorium is set for 5:30 p.m.
