#8 LADY HORNETS WIN AT MSSU
February 14, 2009-Ida Edwards scored 22 points on ten of ten shooting from the field and added six assists, six rebounds and four blocked shots as #8 Emporia State rolled to a 79-56 win over Missouri Southern on Saturday in Joplin, Mo.
The Lady Hornets jumped out to a 16-2 lead to open the game and never trailed in a battle between the fifth and sixth ranked teams in the South Central Region. ESU shot .517 from the field and held MSSU to .333 shooting and limited the second best three point shooting team in the MIAA to just two treys in 13 attempts.
Emporia State will be back in action on Wednesday when they play host to Pittsburg State. The Gorillas are in third place in the MIAA, two games behind the Lady Hornets in hte loss column. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. in White Auditorium
