STUEVE NAMED ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICAN

February 26,2008-Michelle Stueve, the MIAA's all-time scoring leader, has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Team. The senior from Olpe, Kan. was named to the second-team with a 3.58 GPA in biology.

Stueve has been named an All-American on the court twice by CoSIDA and the WBCA. She is averaging 21.6 points and 8.4 rebounds per game this season and is leading the MIAA in three-point field goal percentage.

The #22 Lady Hornets have two games left in the regular season. ESU will play at Truman on Wednesday night and return to Emporia on Saturday to take on Southwest Baptist. Saturday's game will be the final appearance in White Auditorium for Stueve, the only senior on this year's Lady Hornet team. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. with a brief ceremony prior to the game to honor Stueve for her accomplishments.

This is the 15th time an ESU athlete has earned Academic All-American honors since 2000 and ESU ranks in the top 20 of NCAA Division II schools at producing Academic All-Americans in the 21st century.
