February 16, 2008-All-American Michelle Stueve scored 27 points with a season high 16 rebounds as #20 Emporia State defeated Central Missouri 83-65 in White Auditorium on Saturday night. Stueve had the first 14 points of an 18-4 run for the Lady Hornets that pushed the lead from nine points with 5:07 remaining to 23 points with 1:15 left.
ESU opened the game with an 11-3 run and never trailed. Stueve scored seven of the first 11 for the Lady Hornets. The win was ESU's seventh straight and snapped a five game winning streak for UCM.
The Lady Hornets, who maintained their share of first place in the MIAA, will embark on a three game road trip starting at Pittsburg State. Tip-off on Wednesday from Lance Arena in Pittsburg, Kan. is set for 5:30 p.m.

Stueve now has 2,239 career points and has moved into 22nd in all-time NCAA Division II career scoring.
