November 17, 2007-All-American Michelle Stueve had 24 points and nine rebounds as the #3 Lady Hornets defeated Texas Woman's University 83-67 on Saturday night in White Auditorium. ESU was the only undefeated team in the Candlewood Suites/Mix 104.9 Classic after Cameron beat #17 Missouri Western 53-45 in the first game on Saturday.

For the second straight night the Lady Hornets finished the first half on a run. ESU led 33-28 with 4:26 left in the period when the Lady Hornets went on a 13-0 run. Stueve had 12 of her 17 first half points during the run as ESU went to the locker room with a 46-28 lead.

A Stueve three-pointer gave ESU the biggest lead of the night at 64-40 with 13:49 left in the game. The Pioneers would not get closer than 12 points in the second half.

Cassondra Boston came back with 16 points, six assists and three steals after her 34 point performance on Friday night to earn tournament MVP honors. Allie Renberg had 19 points and nine rebounds against TWU to join Stueve and Boston on the all-tournament team for ESU. The rest of the all-tourney team was made up of MWSU's Jill Johnson, Cameron's Tiffany Williams and TWU's Savannah Thompson.

The Lady Hornets will travel to Lawton, Okla. over the weekend to take part in the Cameron/Powerade Thanksgiving Classic. ESU will take on host Cameron on Friday at 8 p.m. and will come back against Central Oklahoma on Saturday at 2 p.m.
