#24 LADY HORNETS WIN FOURTH STRAIGHT, STUEVE BREAKS MIAA RECORD

February 7, 2008--Lady Hornet All-American Michelle Stueve scored a game high 27 points to become the MIAA's all-time scoring leader as #22 Emporia State defeated Northwest Missouri 86-67 on Thursday night in White Auditorium. The Lady Hornets jumped out to a 44-20 lead at the half on the strength of .522 shooting from the field, while limiting NWMSU to .205 shooting in the opening frame.

Stueve tied Becky Reichard's career record of 2,160 points on a jumper with 5:59 left and broke the record 51 seconds later on a lay-up to give ESU a 17 point lead. She also finished with a double-double pulling down 10 rebounds. Cassondra Boston added 14 points and eight rebounds while Andrea Lieker also chipped in 14 points.

The Lady Hornets are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Missouri Western.  Tip-off from St. Joe is set for 5:30 p.m.

NOTES:
Stueve also had ten rebounds for her sixth double-double of the year.
Reichard, who played for Missouri-Rolla and Missouri Western, had set the record in an NCAA Regional Semifinal Game in White Auditorium in 1999.
