#18 LADY HORNETS FALL TO #17 WASHBURN
February 23, 2008-The #18 Lady Hornets had their worst offensive performance in over two years in a 78-52 loss to #17 Washburn on Saturday night in Lee Arena. The Hornets shot .255 from the field and just .111 from the three-point line.
All-American Michelle Stueve led ESU with 11 points and nine rebounds, but failed to connect on a three-pointer for the first time in 32 games. Alli Volkens was the only other LAdy Hornet in double figures with 11points.
The Lady Hornets, who drop one game behind the Lady Blues in the MIAA race, will wrap-up a three game road trip on Wednesday at Truman. ESU will return to White Auditorium for their final home game on Saturday, March 1 against Southweset Baptist.
NOTES:
Stueve moved up to 17th in career scoring at the NCAA Division II level with 2,270 points.
