February 9, 2008-The #22 Lady Hornets shot .558 from the field on their way to a 100-87 win over Missouri Western at the MWSU Fieldhouse on Saturday night.
All-American Michelle Stueve, the MIAA’s all-time career scoring leader, tossed in 29 points on eight of 14 shooting from the field to lead ESU. Ida Edwards scored 23 while Andrea Leiker added 15 points and Cassondra Boston had 14 points as ESU topped the 100 point mark for the second time this year and the 38th time under Brandon Schneider.
Yanique Javois had a game high 39 points for Missouri Western who lost their fifth straight game.
With the win ESU remained in a tie for first in the MIAA with a 9-3 conference mark. ESU will return home on Wednesday to take on Missouri Southern. Tip-off from White Auditorium is set for 5:30 p.m.
NOTES:
Stueve’s 29 points are her season high and the 25th time in her career she has scored at least 25 points. She now has 2,190 points.
ESU cracked 100 points for the second time this year, 38th time under Schneider and 56th time in school history.
ESU scored a season high 111 against Central Methodist. ESU scored 106 points against Central Missouri on Feb. 19, 2007.
ESU has scored 100 points in at least two games in each of the last four seasons.
