January 27, 2008-All-American Michelle Stueve scored a game high 21 points to lead three Lady Hornets with at least 20 points in an 84-65 victory over Missouri Western on Sunday afternoon.
Cassondra Boston scored nine of her 20 points during a 22-4 run to end the first half and send ESU into the lockerroom with a 39-29 lead at the break. Ida Edwards also scored 20 points for ESU. Allie Renberg had a game high nien rebounds. MWSU was led by Jill Johnson with 20 points and six rebounds.
The #16 Lady Hornets are back in action on Wednesday when they take on MIAA leading Northwest Missouri in Maryville, Mo. Tip-off from Bearcat Arena is set for 5:30 p.m.
NOTES:
Stueve is now 64 points away from breaking the MIAA career scoring record. She has 2,096 points while Becky Reichard scored 2,159 points during her career at UMR and MWSU from 1994-1999.
ESU's 13 made three-pointers is one shy of their season high set against Truman and Cameron.
