#25 EMPORIA STATE PUTS FIVE ON COMMISSIONER'S ACADEMIC HONOR ROLL

March 24, 2008 -- The Lady Hornets basketball team placed five members on the MIAA Women's Basketball Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll. Hornets landing on the honor roll were Jamie Augustyn, Cassondra Boston, Tina Commons, Andrea Lieker and Michelle Stueve.
Michelle Stueve a senior from Olpe, Kan. was the MIAA Player of the Year and was named an ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American. She finished her career as ESU's all-time leading scorer and was a member of the 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds club. During her senior season she averaged 21.7 points and averaged 8.7 rebounds per game.
Cassondra Boston a sophomore from Des Moines, Iowa was a second team All-MIAA selection for the season and averaged 11.7 points per game on the season.
Andrea Lieker, a junior from Lyons, Kan., was named honorable mention All-MIAA and the MIAA Defensive Team while she averaged 12.4 points per game on the season for the Lady Hornets.
Jamie Augustyn, a sophomore from Burlington, Kan., averaged 2.7 points and 1.4 rebounds while appearing in 30 games for the Lady Hornets this season.
Tina Commons, a junior from Emporia, Kan., averaged 0.9 points per game 0.5 rebounds per game in ten appearances this season.
