HORNET MEN USE SECOND HALF SURGE FOR WIN
February 18, 2009-Lamar Wilbern had 19 points, nine rebounds and seven assists as Emporia State knocked off Pittsburg State 84-74 in White Auditorium on Wednesday night. The Hornets hit nine of ten three pointers in the second half on the way to their 16th win of the year.
Wilbern was joined in double figures by Adam Holthaus with 19 points and eight rebounds, while Tim Niles added 13 points and Robert Moores tossed in 12 points.
The Hornets are off until next Wednesday when they travel to Washburn. Tip-off for the Turnpike Tussle is set for 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 25 in Lee Arena.
