HORNETS UPSET #12 MISSOURI SOUTHERN

January 7, 2009-Emporia State used a balanced attack as they upset #12 Missouri Southern 71-66 on Wednesday night in White Auditorium. For the Hornets it was their second win over a ranked opponent this season.

Lamar Wilbern scored 17 points to lead the Hornets as nine players scored for ESU. Jeremiah Box joined Wilbern in double figures with 14 points while Matt Boswell and Shang Ping added eight points each. Box also finished with a career high five steals on the night.

The Hornets are back in action on Saturday at Pittsburg State. Tip-off from
Lance Arena is set for 7:30 p.m.
