HORNETS DEFEAT BETHANY 89-61

December 20, 2008-In their final non-conference action of the season, the Emporia State men defeated Bethany 89-61 on Saturday night in White Auditorium. Lamar Wilbern led all scorers with 20 points to lead five Hornets in double figures.

Bethany led by as many as eight points in the first half, but ESU ended the half on a 16-2 run to take a 39-33 lead into the lockerroom. The run would grow to 29-2 as the Hornets scored the first 13 points of the second half.

ESU returns to MIAA action on December 29 when they travel to Truman State. Tip-off from Kirksville, Mo. set for 7:30 p.m.
