December 29, 2008-Robert Moores scored 19 points including a clutch three pointer with 14.7 seconds left as Emporia State pulled out a 63-58 road win at Truman on Monday night.
The Hornets led 31-24 at the half on the strength of five of 11 shooting from behind the arc. Truman used a 12-2 run to start the second half. The Bulldogs led 38-35 when the Hornets went on a 10-0 run to take the lead for good. Moores hit a pair of three pointers during the run. TSU cut the lead to 60-58 following a Gabe Landau lay-up with 47.1 seconds left before Moores clinched the win with a three pointer as the shot clock was winding down.
Lamar Wilbern had 13 points and 12 rebounds for his third double-double of the season for the Hornets. Dustin Andrews tied his career high with 11 points to join them in double figures.
ESU is back in action on Wednesday night when they play host to Neb.-Omaha. Tip-off for the New Year's Eve contest is set for 7:30 p.m. in White Auditorium.
