HORNETS PICK UP REGIONAL ROAD WIN
November 22, 2008-Lamar Wilbern scored 18 points and pulled down 12 rebounds as the Emporia State men's basketball team defeated Newman 65-60 on Saturday night in Wichita, Kan. Robert Moores added 15 points and seven boards for the Hornets, who moved to 2-1 with the win.
Wilbern and Moores combined to score 11 of ESU's final 13 points in the game after Newman took a 53-52 lead with 5:31 left in the game. Wilbern had seven points in the final 1:23 for the Hornets.
The Hornets are now 2-1 with the one loss coming to NCAA Division I Kansas State. ESU will make their 2008-09 White Auditorium debut on Tuesday, Nov. 25 when they take on Ottawa. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. following the #15 Lady Hornets game with Evangel.
