February 14, 2009-The Emporia State men built a 23 point lead at the 16:56 mark of the second half only to see Missouri Southern go on an 23-3 run over the next 10:26 on the way to a 77-71 MSSU victory in Joplin, Mo. on Saturday night.
ESU had a 39-22 lead at the half and were up 49-26 after hitting four free throws following a technical on the MSS bench. ESU would also turn the ball over 12 times in the final 16 minutes.
Nile led ESU in scoring with 22 points, including a career high five three pointers, and Robert Moores added 20 points with four treys.
The Hornets are back in action on Wednesday when they play host to Pittsburg State. Tip-off from White Auditorium is set for 7:30 p.m.
