HORNETS REBOUND WITH WIN OVER RIVAL WASHBURN
January 9, 2007 -- Andrew Davison scored a career high 21 points and De'Andre Townsend matched him with 21 points as ESU defeated Washburn 92-87 on Wednesday in White Auditorium.
Along with Townsend and Davison four other Hornets scored in double figures. Caleb Tegtmeier had 14, including two three pointers, while Jordan Fithian scored 11 and led the Hornets in rebounds with seven. Marvin Lee check in with 11 points and was joined by Wes Book who added ten. The Hornets finished the game shooting .559 from the field.
In the first half the Hornets used runs of 11-0 and 10-0 to stake themselves to a 53-39 halftime advantage. Davison had 19 of his career high 21 in the first frame alone.
ESU will play host to #14 Pittsburg State on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. in White Auditorium.
Notes:
Wes Book passed Davey Babb to move into 15th place on the all-time scoring list with 10:35 to play in the game.
The Hornets shot .588 in the first half while the Ichabods shot only .342.
