February 16, 2008--Playing without the MIAA's leader in scoring and assists, DeAndre Townsend, Emporia State fell to Central Missouri 71-52 on Saturday night in White Auditorium. Townsend was out for the night with the flu.
The 52 points were the fewest scored by a David Moe coached team and the fewest scored by ESU in White Auditorium since a 54-52 loss to Pittsburg State in 2000. Marvin Lee paced the Hornets with 13 points and nine rebounds and was the only Hornet double figures.
The Hornets begin a three game road trip on Wednesday at Pittsburg State. Tip-off from Lance Arena is set for 7:30 p.m.
NOTES:
Wes Book made his first appearance in seven games.
