January 27, 2008-DeAndre Townsend scored 13 of his game high 21 points in the final 7:09 of regulation and the overtime, including a three-pointer to send the game to overtime, as ESU defeated Missouri Western 76-72 in overtime on Sunday in White Auditorium.
Caleb Tegtmeier finished in double figures as well scoring 15 points including going seven of seven from the free throw line. Andrew Davison also checked in with 15 points after knocking down four three-pointers. Spencer Allen had a career high and game high nine rebounds. Lonnel Johnson paced the Griffons with 19 points on the afternoon.
ESU evened their overtime record on the year at 2-2 and are 2-0 in overtime games in MIAA play this season.
The Hornets move to 9-8 and 4-4 in the MIAA with the win.
ESU will travel to Northwest Missouri on Wednesday. Tip-off from Bearcat Arena in Maryville, Mo. is set for 7:30 p.m.
