#23 HORNETS COME BACK TO WIN

November 24, 2007-- The #23 Hornets came back from a 41-33 halftime deficit to roll to an 85-83 victory over Midwestern State. Trailing 49-38 with 18:00 to play ESU pulled off an 11-0 run to tie the score at 49-49. The run included a four point play by DeAndre Townsend and a dunk and free throw shot from Jordan Fithian.

ESU's biggest lead came with 10:55 to go in the second half when the led 67-56 before MSU went on a 12-3 run to cut the lead to 70-68. The teams would trade buckets before ESu opened a 78-73 lead with 5:40 to play. A 6-3 run by MSU would make the score 81-79, the teams again traded baskets before ESU took the final lead of 85-83 as MSU missed on a last ditch effort with 0.2 seconds remaining.

ESU was led in scoring by DeAndre Townsend who had 22 points to go along with eight assists. Jordan Fithian finished the night with a double-double scoring 15 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Wes Book finished with 21 points and nine boards, one rebound short of his second double-double. Marvin Lee and Caleb Tegtmeier also each came up with 11 points for the Hornets.

Chris Davis paced the Mustangs with 33 points and five rebounds. Trajinski Grigsby was the only other MSU player in double figures as he registered a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

ESU will next be in action on Monday, November 26 at 7 p.m. when they take on Ottawa University from White Auditorium.
