#23 HORNETS DROP SECOND STRAIGHT MIAA GAME

January 5, 2008-The #23 Emporia State men could not overcome 12 first-half three-pointers from Southwest Baptist in a 93-70 loss in Bolivar, Mo. on Saturday. Marvin Lee led four Hornets in double figures with 17 points.

ESU fell behind 45-30 at the half as SBU connected on 12 of 23 shots behind the arc in the opening frame.

The Hornets are back in action on Wednesday against #25 Washburn. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. in White Auditorium. Reserved seats are sold out for Wednesday, however plenty of general admission tickets remain. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling the ESU Athletic Ticket Office at 877-341-NEST.

NOTES:
Wes Book passed Dennis Smith and moved into 16th place in ESU career scoring with 1,162 points.
Alex Pyle got his first career start.
The loss was ESU's fourth straight in Bolivar - the last ESU win at SBU was a 71-69 victory on January 3, 2004.
The game caps a six game road trip for ESU.
The 23 point loss is ESU's worst since a 24 point loss at WU in 2005.
