February 20, 2008—After falling behind 31-9 to start the game, Emporia State battled back to pull within five points to start the second half, but couldn’t complete the comeback in an 88-71 loss at Pittsburg State. With the loss ESU drops to eighth in the MIAA with a two game lead over Truman for the final spot in the MIAA Tournament.
Wes Book had 18 points to lead ESU on the night while DeAndre Townsend and Caleb Tegtmeier each added 15 points.
Pittsburg State tied their season high with ten made three pointers and hit five in the first ten minutes of action.
ESU returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Washburn. Tip-off for the regionally televised “Turnpike Tussle” is set for 7:30 p.m. from Lee Arena.
