January 30, 2008-Emporia State's Andrew Davison scored a game high 20 points including the game winning three-pointer with 11.2 seconds left as the Hornets defeated Northwest Missouri 65-62 on Wednesday in Maryville, Mo. The game saw ten ties and nine lead changes as it was ESU's first win in Bearcat Arena since an 80-70 victory in 1997 breaking a streak of ten games.
Marvin Lee added 14 points for the Hornets while pulling down six rebounds while DeAndre Townsend scored 13 points and pulled down seven boards. Jordan Fithian also finished in double figures scoring 12 points for the Hornets. ESU shot .414 from the three point line knocking down 12 of 29 from behind the arc. Hunter Henry led the way for the Bearcats with 19 points and eight rebounds.
The Hornets are back in action on Saturday when they play host to Ft. Hays State in a free CSTV Broadband game. Tip-off from White Auditorium is set for 7:30 p.m.
